EXCL - Aims to expand partnership with Icon Plus

XL Axiata (EXCL) is expecting to expand a scope of partnership with PLN Icon Plus in order to improve digital penetration. On the partnership, EXCL is able to use the latter's tower infrastructure or poles. The two companies have previously had cooperation for network bandwith and fiberized tower. (Source : Bisnis Indonesia) Comment: As EXCL plans to stick with asset light approach, its essential for the company to deepen partnerships as means for business expansion. Meanwhile, asset light approach has become a trend for MNO's today since the market has tten more competitive while at the same time they also need to adopt new technology such as 5G and convergence. This put MNO's to be able to balance out between efficiency and leverage prudence and its capex spending.
