ANTM – Ready to operate ferronickel plant on 2Q23

The operation of the Aneka Tambang (ANTM) factory located in East Halmahera is one of the efforts to strengthen its 2023 performance. The plant has a capacity of 13,500 tons of nickel in ferronickel (Tni) and the construction progress has reached 98%. ANTM focuses on implementing strategic downstream-based development initiatives to increase the added value of mining product commodities and strengthen ANTM's core business. The construction of this plant is a follow-up to the sale and purchase agreement (PJTLB) for the electricity supply of the East Halmahera ferronickel plant between ANTM and PLN signed in March 2022. Currently, the electricity procurement phase in the form of PLN PLTDG is being implemented. The ignition of the first phase of the PLTDG of 15 MW has begun in December 2022. Furthermore, the process of igniting the PLTDG with a total power of 75 MW is planned to be carried out in Q123 which is continued with a series of commissioning phases of the plant and ferronickel plant.
