JPFA – Distributes 1.000+ pregnant dairy cows to boost milk supply Japfa Comfeed Indonesia (JPFA), via their subsidiary Santosa Agrindo Lestari (Santori) partnered with Greenfields Dairy Indonesia to distribute 1.000+ pregnant dairy cows to 120 smallholder farmers across Malang, Blitar, Pasuruan, and Batu in East Java. The cows are imported Australian Holsten-Jersey crossbreed, aimed to support post foot-and-mouth disease recovery and accelerate self-sufficiency. All imported cattle underwent a 14-day quarantine and checks according to the Indonesians Quarantine Agency. The initiative aligns with the 2025-2029 government target to grow the national dairy herd to 998.565 cows. Under the Kemitraan Sapi Perah Greenfields (KSG) program, running since 2007, now supporting 2.000+ farmers, offering training, vet services, and guaranteed milk absorption. Indonesia’s domestic production only covers ~20% of national dairy demand while the USDA projects Indonesia’s consumption to rise from 4,2 mn tons in 2024 to 5,3 mn tons in 2025, mainly due to the Makan Bergizi Gratis program targeting 82 mn children by 2029.
