ADRO – Targeting hydropower with a capacity of 1.3 GW to start operating by 2030 Adaro Energy Indonesia (ADRO) targets the Mentarang Induk hydropower plant in North Kalimantan with a capacity of 1.3 GW to start operating by 2030. It is expected that the hydropower plant will produce green aluminum. Aluminum smelter operations also can be moved using the energy from hydropower plant once it's starts to operate. ADRO projects that demand for aluminum in the future will be quite large with the development of EV. ADRO can provide aluminum for this upcoming demand in the domestic market as well as export markets, namely to China, Europe and the US.
