EXCL - 1,200 3G BTS left as phase out near completion

XL Axiata (EXCL) is near completion of 3G phase out, leaving only 1,200 BTS in some areas. This is part of its re-farming program as it has committed to ensure smooth transition to more advanced 4G network. (Source : Bisnis Indonesia) Comment : EXCL's continuous commitment for network refarming is deemed to be a od move for the sake of better efficiency and data improvement. Although, we note that this also resulted an increase of 2G BTS in couple of years to facilitate legacy service for users with unsupported devices. Having said that, number of EXCL's non-data users are the lowest among players with lower than 10%.
