PGEO — Expansion of geothermal projects

PGEO — Expansion of geothermal projects Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGEO) is accelerating its geothermal projects, with several set to become commercially operational by 2025-2026. Notably, the company is implementing co-generation technology, which enhances power plant capacity using geothermal brine. This technology has been in use at the Lahendong plant since 2022 and boosts electricity capacity per unit by up to 40%. Among the 30 ongoing projects, 19 involve co-generation, with 13 expected to be operational by 2025-2026. To ensure these projects' feasibility and bankability, PGEO has partnered with PT PLN Indonesia Power. As of 1H24, the developments are progressing as planned. (Source : Kontan)
