ISAT – To conclude 3G phasing out program

Management of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (ISAT) has reported that a 3G shutdown plan nearly comes to an end. In the early 2023, management said that all of 3G network on IM3 has been phased out, while the reminder of 3G networks belong to Tri network as the company has been also carrying out network integration program post-merger. Management previously planned to phase out all of 3G networks this year as part of its strategy to put more emphasis on 4G and 5G network expansion. (Source : Liputan 6) Comment: We are sanguine that the 3G shutdown program will help it improve efficiency in operational costs ing forward, and in fact, it is part of program that has long been encouraged by the vernment. We do not see any major concern in 3G phasing out especially on customer reduction, which has been raised by incumbent provider, as its concentrated on mobile customers. In addition, ISAT’s phasing out program is way faster than EXCL’s and Telkomsel’s, that signifying its ability to reduce costs especially in maintenance costs, tower leases and other operational costs.
