SMCB – Aiming 2023 sales volume to grow 2%-4% yoy
Solusi Bangun Indonesia (SMCB) projects sales volume growth to be in the range 2% - 4% this year. The positive sentiment is the rise of infrastructure projects in the country. Nevertheless, the domestic cement market is currently still haunted by oversupply. In comparison, SMCB posted cement and slag sales volume of 13.14 mn tons throughout 2022. This realization decreased by 2.32% from sales in 2021 which amounted to 13.45 mn tons. To boost performance and face current problems, SMCB has synergy with Semen Indonesia (SIG), as the holding company for domestic market management and cement channeling through the finished concrete business unit for value-added construction solutions. SMCB will also follow up the export market with Taiheiyo Cement Corporation and sales of value-added construct solutions. So far, SMCB has used rice husks to municipal waste as an alternative fuel source. To get 100% use of alternative fuels does take time. But, currently there is a factory in SMCB that uses the highest alternative energy in the range of 21-22%. (Source : Kontan)
