HMSP – Cigarette sales down 1.5% yoy while IQOS up 34.3% yoy in 1H25 Philip Morris International (PMI) reports that HM Sampoerna (HMSP) cigarette sales fell 1.5% yoy to 39.3 bn sticks in 1h25, driven by a 2% yoy drop in conventional cigarettes. In contrast, IQOS heated tobacco products surged 34.3% yoy in the same period. Despite the decline, HMSP’s market share rose 0.8% to 31% amid a 4.3% decline in the total industry volume to 126.5 bn sticks. PMI emphasized Indonesia’s role as a key innovator and producer in Asia, underscored by its USD330 mn investment in a smoke-free production facility in Karawang, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. The plant will house PMI’s only advanced lab in Asia, staffed by 200 Indonesian experts, supporting both domestic and global markets.
