SCMA - Navigates analog switch-off impact
SCMA - Navigates analog switch-off impact The implementation of the analog switch-off (ASO) policy has affected the performance of television companies, including Surya Citra Media (SCMA). Amid margin pressure due to ASO, SCMA is diligently working to adapt. SCMA's CEO, Susanto Hartono, acknowledges the challenge posed by ASO, which has led advertisers to exercise caution, but he remains optimistic that ad spending will eventually normalize. This sentiment is supported by the public's increasing readiness to transition to digital TV compared to last year. SCMA's H123 revenue declined 4.14% yoy to IDR3.03 tn, and it recorded a loss of IDR35.48 bn in the current period, a reversal from a profit of IDR565.73 bn in 1H22. The company aims to leverage the potential of the large digital segment, particularly focusing on the over-the-top (OTT) platform Vidio.com. (Source : Kontan)
